One of the best wartime propaganda posters published by the Railway Executive Committee: Frank Mason’s superb Another Convoy is Despatched, c.1940. The evocative image depicts a busy dockside scene as a convoy of cargo ships are unloaded. In the foreground, large cranes lift crates from a ship, which are then loaded onto a steam-hauled goods train. This poster was stored rolled from new and developed a major tear extending across the entire width of the bottom section. Now expertly restored the poster retains the vitality of the original, unfaded, printing. A higher resolution image is available for viewing on request.
