Buxton. The holiday resort of beauty
John CanningA beautifully evocative railway poster from the early 1950s, depicting a young couple admiring the Derbyshire spa town of Buxton. Central to the design is the famous Buxton Crescent built in the 1780s, and the Natural Mineral Baths, opened in 1854. The poster was recently rediscovered in a loft in west London, together with a collection of posters, ephemera, and drawings from the former Great Western Railway Publicity Office at Paddington.
