An original proof version of a Guinness poster commemorating the 900th Anniversary of the Battle of Hastings in 1966. The design, by Stanley Penn, is a parody of the Bayeux Tapestry, in which Duke William is depicted receiving a pint of the ‘black stuff’ from a loyal liegeman. This poster was reproduced in very large format for outdoor hoardings, but this smaller example was printed first to check alignment and colour balancing. Rare.
