An expensively printed railway poster celebrating the 1953 Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II by Captain Charles Shepherd. ‘Shep’, as the artist was better known, was Head of Art at the Baynard Press and widely regarded as one of the best poster designers working in Britain at the time. This poster was recently rediscovered in a loft in west London, together with a collection of posters, ephemera, and drawings from the former Great Western Railway Publicity Office at Paddington.
