David HockneyAn original poster designed by David Hockney for the Glyndebourne Touring Opera’s exhibition of costumes and set designs held at Manchester City Art Gallery and Bristol City Art Gallery in 1975. The exhibition included costumes, stage sets, and related material designed by Hockney for the Opera’s production of Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress. For the poster, Hockney incorporated masks from the opera’s Bedlam scene with appropriately spaced lettering to suggest a musical score.
