An original railway poster designed by Kenneth Steel for British Railways, featuring Rowley’s House in Shrewsbury. The property was built by local wool merchant Roger Rowley in the late 1500s and enlarged by his son in 1618. It is believed to be the earliest brick building in Shrewsbury. The poster was recently rediscovered in a loft in west London, together with a collection of posters, ephemera, and drawings from the former Great Western Railway Publicity Office at Paddington.
