An original V&A Museum poster for an exhibition celebrating 50 years of the Royal Designers for Industry award, featuring a design by Tom Eckersley. Launched in 1936 to encourage high standards of industrial design and to enhance the status of designers, the award is given to people who have achieved "sustained excellence in aesthetic and efficient design for industry". Tom Eckersley was appointed a Royal Designer for Industry (RDI) in 1963.
