Original, rare, poster for the First International Peace Congress (Congrès mondial des Partisans de la paix), held in Paris, April 1949, featuring the Dove symbol designed specifically for the event by Pablo Picasso. The poster was printed in a limited edition by Atelier Mourlot, a Parisian fine art lithographic printer associated with some of the most celebrated artists of the mid-twentieth century, including Braque, Chagall, Matisse, Miró and Picasso.

Variations of the Dove symbol were painted by Picasso for subsequent Peace Congresses around the world, and it has since become a symbol of the world peace movement. A higher resolution image file is available for viewing on request.
