Original travel poster designed by the noted American poster artist David Klein for Trans World Airlines (TWA), 1967. The design features a montage of New York landmarks, including the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge and St Patrick’s Cathedral. The poster also includes the short-lived Up, Up and Away TWA strapline, which was adopted in 1967 and accompanied by a television advertising campaign featuring an altered version of the popular Fifth Dimension song “Up, Up and Away”. Despite paying royalties, TWA became embroiled in a legal dispute over its use of the song, and the campaign was dropped a year or so later.
