An original, vintage, theatre poster for the Berliner Ensemble’s production of Pauken und Trompeten (Trumpets and Drums) by Bertolt Brecht, 1955. The poster was illustrated by the East German artist and stage designer Karl von Appen, a member of the Association of Revolutionary Visual Artists. The Berliner Ensemble is a German theatre company established by actress Helene Weigel and her husband, playwright Bertolt Brecht, in 1949. A higher resolution image is available to view on request.
