An extraordinary group of posters printed for the Serpentine Gallery in Kensington Gardens, London, which collectively form a graphic illustration of the gallery, 1970. Each of the six posters promote a different exhibition from the Gallery’s inaugural year, starting with Post Diploma work from Chelsea, Manchester and Birmingham. Subsequent exhibitions that year featured the work of: John Dee, John Howton, David Inshaw, Barry Martin (May-June); Rodney Gathercole, Nigel Hall, Ken Lee, David Prentice (June-July); Christine Beattie, Keith Brocklehurst, Anthony Slinn, David Whitaker (July-Aug); David King, Justin Knowles, Peter Waldron, Ron Wilman (Aug-Sep); Colin Cina, Pat Douthwaite, Peter Eveleigh, Graham Gilchrist, Carlos Granger (Sep-Oct). Some of the posters are double sided, with information about the artists printed on the reverse. A very rare set. Higher resolution images of each poster are available for viewing on request.
