An extremely scarce original Railway Air Services (RAS) poster map showing UK air routes. The RAS was formed in March 1934 by the four largest British railway companies and Imperial Airways. The airline was based at London's Croydon Airport and in the early days used DH.86 Express biplanes. Interestingly, this poster (which dates from the opening of the airline) uses a diagrammatic map similar to that introduced by London Underground only a year earlier. A higher resolution image is available for viewing on request.
