Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, 1975
Peter Blake/Gordon House
An uncommon, original poster, created for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in 1975 by Sir Peter Blake and designed by Gordon House. One of the founders of the British Pop Art movement, Blake's characteristic collage design highlights the diversity of the Summer Exhibition galleries and the show's visitors. Central in the design is the singer-songwriter Ian Dury, a former student of Blake's from the Royal College of Art. More examples of Royal Academy Summer Exhibition posters can be seen here.
