Isle of Man
Daphne PaddenAn uncommon original railway poster for the Isle of Man by the ‘travel queen’ Daphne Padden. One of the leading British poster artists of the 1950s and 60s, Padden was a master of the seemingly effortless, joyous, holiday poster. In this design, Padden subverts the traditional Coat of Arms of the Isle of Man, by flanking the famous ‘three armoured legs’ motif with two holiday making fish, armed with oars, tennis bat, golf irons, bowls and beach equipment. The whole design is topped off with a Manx cat holding an ice cream. A really lovely poster. This poster is sold framed. Please enquire about delivery before purchasing.
