Original early-1960s Mothers Pride poster, complete with an image of the product in contemporary packaging. Mothers Pride bread was first sold in Manchester in the 1930s, but only attained national prominence after it was taken over by Rank Hovis McDougall in the 1950s. It eventually became one of Britain’s leading brands, thanks to an extensive advertising campaign that included well-known TV commercials. A higher resolution image is available to view on request.
