An outstanding, original, theatre poster for a production of The Playboy of the Western World at the National Theatre, London, 1975, designed by Richard Bird & Michael Mayhew. The three-act play was written by Irish playwright John Millington Synge and first performed at the Abbey Theatre, Dublin, on 26 January 1907. The main image for the poster is taken from a painting by Irish artist Jack Yeats which was used for the first production. A higher resolution image file is available for viewing on request.
