An original poster published by the Empire Marketing Board (EMB), stressing the importance of the Suez Canal for British trade, c. 1928. The poster would have been displayed alongside a pictorial poster showing the preparation of Copra (a coconut by-product), possibly E. A. Cox’s Empire’s Copra (1928). Although unsigned, the central ship motif looks very similar to contemporary work by leading British poster artist Frederick Herrick. A higher resolution image is available for viewing on request.
