Lesbians are Coming Out
See Red Women's WorkshopAn original, and significant, political/protest poster screen-printed by See Red Women's Workshop, Lesbians are Coming Out, 1982. The poster was designed to raise awareness of the LGBT+ community and help create a climate where more people felt comfortable in expressing their sexuality, in this case by stressing the normality of same-sex relationships.
See Red Women's Workshop was a collective screen-printing studio which operated in London between 1974 and 1990. The studio was run by a feminist collective and produced material that aimed to combat sexist images of women and contribute towards the visual culture of the Women's Liberation Movement.
