An original, and highly significant, art exhibition poster together with the original artwork by the Scottish fine artist William Gear RA RBSA, The London Group, held at the RBA Galleries in Suffolk Street, May 1956. Poster printed by the Curwen Press.

The London Group is an English artists’ association founded in November 1913 for the purpose of joint exhibition. This poster advertises the Group’s largest (and possibly most significant) post-war exhibition, when 405 items were displayed including drawings, sculptures and paintings. The exhibition included works by non-members, such as Frank Auerbach, Gillian Ayres, Prunella Clough, Patrick George, Mary Martin, Dorothy Mead, Margaret Mellis and Yolanda Sonnabend.

A very rare poster indeed, with the unique artwork.
