Martina Selway studied at Shrewsbury College of Art. She initially worked for an advertising agency before becoming a freelance illustrator in 1966. During the 1960s, she designed posters for London Transport and was a background illustrator for the animated Beatles film Yellow Submarine (1967). She is best known today as a children’s book author and illustrator.
