Original promotional advertising poster, A Map of Yorkshire, designed by Estra Clark and published by Leak and Thorp Department Store, Coney Street, York, c. 1960.

The poster was originally published in a larger format by British Railways in 1949. Leak & Thorp later acquired the copyright and reproduced the poster in this smaller format to promote the famous York store.

The image depicts the entire county, with places of interest prominently marked together with scenes from the county’s history.
