This highly decorative map is full of period charm, including depictions of historical buildings, famous people, places to visit etc. The poster was commissioned as part of a publicity campaign to encourage American tourists to visit the UK. The post-war design focuses on the resilience of London, as well as the city’s historical resonance. The design also includes an illustration of the artist at work (accompanied by his dog, Jim) towards the bottom right corner of the map.
