North Wales
AnonOriginal British Railways (London Midland Region) poster map, North West Coast, 1957.
A lovely poster map, full of period detail and charm, focussing on the principal holiday towns of Rhyl, Colwyn Bay and Llandudno , but also including Prestatyn, Conwy, Bangor, Caernarfon, Beaumaris, and a host of smaller holiday destinations. This being north Wales, there are plenty of castles in evidence, plus a host of ideas for day trips such as the Snowdon Mountain Railway (looking precarious in this illustration) and the St Tudno steamship heading off from the Great Orme. Some fine bridges too, of course.
