The album contains pasted in mementoes relating to the career of Louis Walton (aka Louis Johnston), including contracts, playbills, posters, letters, newspaper cuttings etc. The documents cover a wide range of provincial theatres, including Cambridge, Aldershot, Cardiff, Margate, Folkestone, Eastbourne, Windsor, Brighton, Bootle, Southampton, Scarborough, Oxford, New Brighton and Nottingham. At least a dozen folded posters, and many items of ephemera. 

The album is in a fragile condition, with browned, loose and brittle pages. But the printed inserts (especially programmes and posters) are in very good order and could be removed. Some are already loose.
