An original hand-painted artwork for a Southern Railway travel publication, Sands Across the Sea, by Margaret Bradley, 1937. The design features three women wearing traditional costumes associated with Brittany, Normandy and Picardy (France). The artwork is sold mounted with a copy of the published booklet. Margaret Bradley studied in Paris at the Ecole de la Ville and Academie Jullian, and later worked as a commercial and fine artist in London, Paris and Sicily from c.1936 to c.1965. Her many clients included: Southern Railway, British European Airways, British Railways, the Automobile Association, Cassels and the Ford Motor Company.
