An original promotional poster of Concorde, drawn by Theo Page and published by the Daily Telegraph in 1968. The poster, which was available to purchase at the time and distributed to schools, depicts the famous supersonic airliner in sectioned and diagrammatic form. A text box (top left) describes the plane’s Anglo-French origins and optimistically states that it will enter commercial service in 1972 (in fact, Concorde didn’t enter service until 1976). Another text box (top right) illustrates the liveries of various airlines that have already pre-ordered Concorde for their fleet. The main drawing, however, depicts the prototype plane in the livery of the British Overseas Airways Corporation, a forerunner of British Airways.
