Facts & Figures 6: Rolling StockBlake
An interesting example of self-publicity from the nationalised British Railways, intended to convey scale and progress. The poster was part of a series produced between c.1956 and 1959 by the different regions that made up the rail network. This one promotes the improvements made to passenger vehicles and goods wagons. It was recently rediscovered in a loft in west London, together with a collection of posters, ephemera, and drawings from the former British Railways (Western Region) Publicity Office at Paddington.
