This very unusual railway poster was published in autumn 1930 to capitalize on the huge success of JB Priestley’s novel The Good Companions (1929), the story of a travelling concert party. According to the LNER staff magazine, the poster shows ‘the various places the Good Companions visited’. A shrewd example of cross-marketing designed by the legendary Austin Cooper.
