Original railway poster, Trafalgar Square, painted by the renowned poster artist Claude Buckle and published by the Railway Executive (London Midland Region) in 1949. A superb depiction of London’s famous central square, featuring Nelson’s Column, the National Gallery and the church of St Martin-in- the-Field. In a detail typical of Buckle’s work, the eye is drawn to a brightly painted red London bus, which contrasts with the architectural hues of the main composition.

A rare poster.
