Pond was first commissioned by the rail operator to design graphic murals for railway carriages and waiting rooms. He was later asked to provide a series of travel posters, which are now regarded as among the best railway posters of the era. This poster print shows one of Pond’s first designs for carriage interiors, featuring a stylized image of St Paul’s Cathedral.
Printed on high quality paper, possibly with the intention of being sold at the event.
