Portsmouth and Plymouth Navy DaysAnon
An original, vintage, Royal Navy poster advertising Portsmouth and Plymouth Navy Days, 1961. The tradition of Navy Days dates back to the 1920s when the Royal Dockyards were open to the public for “Navy Week”. Under various names and formats these events were held every year (with the exception of the Second World War) until 2010. They offered the public an opportunity to explore the Navy’s battlefleet first hand, and to meet some of the sailors involved. A lovely mid-century design.
