Royal Albert Dock, London
Leonard RosomanAn original Guinness Lithograph, Royal Albert Dock, London by Leonard Rosoman, printed by the Curwen Studio and published in 1962. The Guinness Lithographs were commissioned in two series by Guinness in the 1950s and 1960s to publicise the newly launched Guinness Book of Records. The prints were made to be framed or pinned up on the walls of pubs and illustrate world records of the day. All were commissioned from popular, contemporary artists, in a project initially led by the artist printmaker Barnett Freedman. This one, by the British artist Leonard Rosoman RA (1913 – 2012), illustrates London’s Royal Albert Dock. A higher resolution image is available for viewing on request.
