A rare British Second World War Home Front poster, Wings for Victory – the sky’s the limit for War Savings, 1943. This poster was part of a government campaign to encourage the public to invest in war bonds and saving certificates to fund military production. A more common version of the poster, featuring bomber planes, appears to have been widely circulated. But this version, depicting fighter aircraft, is much rarer.

The selection of fighter aircraft is interesting too, with the lesser known (today) Westland Whirlwind and Bristol Beaufighter taking centre stage, alongside a Tomahawk, Hurricane, and Spitfire.

The poster has been professionally conserved and laid onto Japan paper.
