An outstanding, original, advertising poster, A Great Industry Where Our Tea Comes From, created by the noted cartographer and artist Leslie MacDonald "Max" Gill for the Tea Market Expansion Board, 1937. The decorative design features maps of India, Ceylon, Sumatra and Java together with a smaller map locating the countries within the Indian Ocean. A rare and beautiful poster map, full of charming detail, including historical places and buildings, native animals, aeroplanes, sailing ships etc. This copy came from the estate of the artist and would have been retained as a reference copy by MacDonald Gill.
